Porn star books are hit or miss for me. I've read some that are spectacularly done and some that fall flat as pancakes.Kissing Cody Starr
fell somewhere in the middle. While it didn’t blow me away I certainly was not disappointed by it. It was surprisingly sweet for a porn type book but there were moments that, to me, were a bit too much to suspend disbelief. Some of the phrasing of the book read as off to me, for instance when one of the characters though about “all the times” they were anything after being together for something like 48-hours.
However, at its heart, this little book was about a young man who broke my heart that was rescued by a real life hero. There were times I got frustrated with Cody/Christian but then I had to remind myself this was a young man (23) who had absolutely no
relationship experience and what I would consider very little real life experience. Finn was a former military man, injured in action and discharged as a result. He was incredibly brave to even attempt to start a relationship with a porn star. Yeah, he didn’t always handle things well but he was honest and he was trying and that made all the difference.
Overall I enjoyed this relatively short story, my first from this author, and would happily return to this world if there is a story about Zach and Eddy. Just sayin’…
